A letter from your Secretary

The holidays are upon us and we have a new year on its way. The election of officers was held at the November meeting and we have three new board members. We welcome Pat Moran, Debbie Trainor and Steve Robbins. We want to thank Past President Bill Moriarty and director Mark Rue for the past two years. Congratulations to all the newly elected officers.

We hope to see many changes this year that will benefit the members.  We are still working on improving the web site and the newsletters should come out on a more regular basis and contain much more information.

Please remember to notify us of any change of address or working status.

If you have any questions I can be contacted directly at my office 847-336-6939 or via e-mail Secretary@EmeraldSocietyofIllinois.org

APRIL MEETING (10th) *

This will be a normal membership meeting.  The dinner dance has been moved Sept 22, 2006

MAY MEETING (8th) / SPORTS NIGHT *

The meeting will be held on May 8, 2006 at the church. This is normally our rib-fest night but we are changing that this year. We will have the sports night in May. We are hoping that attendance will be a little better because children are still in school and have not left for vacations yet

JUNE MEETING (12th) / RIB-FEST

The Rib-Fest will be held at the FOP Hall on June 12, 2004. We moved it to this date because of conflicts with other Police Memorial Schedules and we should have warmer weather instead of  the rain and cold we had the last couple of years.

JULY (10th)/ GOLF OUTING

The golf outing will be held on July 10, 2006 at Carriage Greens Country Club in Darien Illinois. There will be a shotgun start at 10:00 AM. The cost for this years outing is $100.00 per golfer or $400.00 per foursome. The price includes green fees and cart, lunch on the course, four hour open bar including bottled beer and a seven course meal. Each golfer will also receive a souvenir shirt for participating in the outing. The outing has sold out for the past five years so the committee suggests that you make your reservations early. Only your payment will secure a position in the outing. For further information or to find out where to mail your check, go to “emeraldsocietyofillinois.org” and click on the link for “officers of the Emerald Society” and find Patrick Moriarty. Please include your name, e-mail address and phone number or call my voice mail at 847-772-0709. Please make checks payable to the Emerald Society of Illinois. The golf outing is the most successful fund raiser for the building fund and generates the bulk of the revenue from its sponsors, not the golfers. You are paying for what you get. We hope to see you at the outing again this year. If you know of anyone that would like to sponsor a hole or make a donation, please contact Patrick Moriarty at the above e-mail or voice mail for further information.
