A letter from your Secretary,
I want to thank the membership for their support and cooperation. I have received numerous phone calls, e-mails and letters from members advising of address changes and the like. I am still working on improving the website. We have a full schedule in the next few months with the scholarship drawing, October-fest, elections, the turkey raffle and Christmas party just to name a few. We are receiving more ad applications as time progresses, remember the ads help defray the cost of printing the newsletter.
We are requiring members to check in when they arrive at the meetings, so bring your ID card to avoid having to stand in line. CHECK YOUR EXPIRATION DATE ON THE MAILING LABEL. IF IT DOES NOT SAY 2005 YOU ARE NOT PAID UP AND MAY BE DENIED ENTRY TO AN EVENT OR MEETING.
Please remember to notify us of any change of address or working status.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
MOTORCYCLE RAFFLE
The drawing was held at the summer picnic. The number 051 was the winning ticket. The winner was Dawn Ambrosini of the Joliet Police Department. She opted for the cash prize Congratulations Dawn.
SCHOLARSHIP
The annual scholarship drawing will be held September 12 at the Assumption Church. You must be a paid up member for the last four consecutive years to be eligible. Remember that the scholarship is for your children only and only one application per family. Members that qualify will receive a separate application with the news letter. If you did not receive on and feel you qualify please contact me directly. Only the original forms will be accepted. No photocopies.
OCTOBERFEST
The annual October-fest meeting will be October 3 at the FOP Hall 1412 W. Washington Chicago. Elections nomination for officers for 2006-2007 will also be held at this meeting
TURKEY RAFFLE
The annual turkey raffle will be held Monday, November 14th at the church.
ELECTIONS
The elections of officers for 2006/2007 will be held at the November Meeting.

ELECTIONS
Dear members please be advised that there will be an election for the office of director of the Emerald Society at the November meeting. There are eleven members for nine positions on the ballot. Those running for the positions are Tim Burns, Joe Donnelly, John Keane, Mike Kane, Don Egan, Mike Adkins, Pat Moran Steve Robbins, Megan Flisk, Malcom Caskey, and Robert Schoup. Every vote counts so please attend and vote.
It is also our annual turkey raffle night. Tickets enclosed (in mailed newsletter).
ANNUAL CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY
The date of the party is Saturday, December 10, 2005. Deadline to contact Kathie Ebeling is Friday, December 3rd. This is important so we know how many children to expect. The itinerary is the same. Begins at 12:00pm - ends at 3:00pm. Gifts should be wrapped& tagged with the child’s name (first and last name), age. Gift not to exceed $15.00. Please bring socks, mittens, gloves, hats, for our tree.
