- The Emerald Society of Illinois is the Irish
American Police Association. Anyone who is a law enforcement
officer in the State of Illinois of Irish Heritage, (anyone born in Ireland
of Irish nationality, or anyone whose ancestor(s) were born in Ireland of
Irish nationality) may join. Application to the Society must be made in
writing, on this form to the Board of Directors. Applicants must be
sponsored by a member in good standing with the Society. The Membership.
Committee will review all applications and subsequently notify applicants of
their acceptance or denial of membership to the Society. The first
year's dues are waived for any recruit or cadet while attending a State
certified Academy.
